Have you ever felt like your day is just a high-speed emotional rollercoaster? One minute you’re feeling completely fine and genuinely happy, and just an hour and a half later, the wind shifts and sadness creeps in out of nowhere. By tomorrow afternoon your mood is a bit gray, and by nightfall, everything feels tangled and unclear.
When happiness and sorrow happen so quickly and contrastingly, we are forced to learn one thing: the art of not getting too carried away in either joy or sorrow.
Why do we need to hit the brakes a little when we’re happy so we don’t overdo it? The simple answer is because we know that the wheel is always turning. We know that behind today’s laughter, there’s a chance that sadness is waiting around the corner to switch places. That brake isn't there to ruin the happiness; it’s a way to protect our hearts from crashing too hard when expectations collide with reality.
Conversely, why shouldn't we drown in our sadness when we're feeling low? Because we also have to remember that happiness will eventually come back to greet us. Sadness is real and entirely valid to feel, but it is never a permanent residence.
Realizing this dynamic is ultimately what allows us to tell ourselves, "It's okay," even when those mood shifts happen in a matter of minutes. We learn to make peace with uncertainty.
If we connect this to the future, all of these ups and downs ultimately lead to one firm belief: trust the process. The future is already waiting out there, ready to welcome us as we slowly grow stronger. Today’s emotional storm isn't here to weaken us; it’s a warm lesson shaping us into someone much more prepared for the road ahead.
